Today we are looking for a Payroll & Compensation Officer


Job purpose:

A payroll & compensation officer’s job encompasses keeping track of the company's payroll information to ensure the information is kept up to date and accurate and issuing pay checks at the end of the pay period. Specific duties and responsibilities of a payroll officer include tracking employee work hours, updating records when an employee's status changes, answering payroll questions employees have and performing calculations with commissions, bonuses, taxes and other deductions. You need strong math skills and the ability to use accounting, human resources, email and time-tracking software to do these tasks.
Payroll & compensation officer’s work in conjunction with and support the human resources department and work under the HR Director Belux.

Job role & responsibilities:

• You run the payroll process from A to Z in the Attentia payroll system
• With your up to date and practical knowledge of social legislation you smoothly deliver the processes of payroll
• You initiate, coordinate and carry out projects within Payroll and Comp & Ben in collaboration with the HR Directors guidance:
o Merit cycle
o Bonus cycle
o International employment
o Budget calculations
o Benefits Motivation Plan
o Car administration
o Groups – hospitalization insurances
o …
• You are responsible for the daily operational management of activities within Payroll and Comp & Ben
• You monitor that the existing personnel management systems are maintained in order to have accurate and complete information.
• You formulate advice and you supervise the service level of our different providers
• You act as internal specialist and formulate advice and recommendations on HR related topics
• You keep yourself constantly informed on developments within your field of expertise

Skills & experience required:

• You have at least a bachelor's degree.
• You have at least 4 years of relevant work experience.
• You have excellent knowledge of Dutch / French (in speaking and writing) and are proficient in English (in speaking and writing)
• You have experience in general HR Administration.
• You are familiar with Microsoft Office and have worked with payroll software before. Previous knowledge of time registration software and processing is an asset.
• You have an in-depth knowledge of the Belgian social legislation.
• You are analytical, accurate, and efficient and you are stress resistant.
• You have an entrepreneurial personality, you have an eye for detail and enjoy working with people and numbers.


You have excellent knowledge of Dutch / French (in speaking and writing) and are proficient in English (in speaking and writing)
